ESPN Writer Appears To Question Rangers Fans Patience

In Emily Kaplan’s latest article for ESPN, she notes the big questions facing each team as the NHL heads towards free agency. And when it came to the Rangers, the author said that the biggest issue facing the Rangers heading into the summer would be their fans.

Perhaps it is the reputation of New York sports fans being unforgiving when their teams underperform, but when ownership and management fully embraces a retool/rebuild, as the Rangers front office has, it sends a clear message to the fans to stick with it.

As we have mentioned many times on The Tilted Ice Podcast, these are exciting times in Rangerstown. A new head coach with a new style of game overseeing a lot of raw and young talent that can be the building blocks of the organization’s success in the, hopefully near, future. Perhaps the Rangers will struggle this season, as Kevin suggested in his piece earlier today. But there is a chance that the 2018-19 Blueshirts shock the world and play well enough to sneak their way into the postseason. Whether that happens or not is yet to be seen, but one thing is certain: A Rangers fan’s love for his team will never waver, regardless of how a season may turn out.
