Analysis

Money is not an issue for the wealthiest franchise in the NHL. The AAV of 6.5M really only represents a cap increase of less than 2M from Kreider’s current hit. The concern is term which is not a real issue because he does not have a full no move clause. New York can essentially trade him, but would have some control as to destination.

Overall this is a good contract.
