Prized free agent prospect Kevin Hayes has decided to sign with the New York Rangers today.

Reports were trickling in all morning and the Rangers have yet to confirm the signing, however thanks to social media Kevin’s brother Jimmy did just that.

As to why he signed with the Rangers, speculation has it that he wanted to be closer to home. The Boston Bruins who were also in the running but are dealing with cap issues and NY seemed liked the right fit.

Now can Kevin Hayes crack this RW heavy lineup? That remains to be seen but he will be given every opportunity. As for John Moore, consensus is they will still work something out, but you can expect the Rangers to make a minor move before the season starts.
