Leafs definitely in on McDonagh as he updates his no trade list

The plot thickens on the Ryan McDonagh sweepstakes this evening. Darren Dreger went on TSN radio and stated that the Toronto Maple Leafs are certainly in on the “fun”.

In the radio interview, Dreger was asked what it would take to land McDonagh. “You’re talking about 3 to 4 pieces.” he said. One of those pieces is likely a prospect Dreger implied but he didn’t get into what the other pieces are.

It was previously mentioned by other insiders, including Larry Brooks of the NY POST that Mitch Marner or William Nylander would need to be a piece coming back. No less than a king’s ransom will make Gorton trade the 28 year old top pair defender with another year on his contract.

Also yesterday, Craig Custance was on a Buffalo station and revealed that McDonagh has amended his 10 team no trade list. The reason could be that the Rangers have gone back to him with teams interested and if he would consider taking them off his list.
