Former Rangers forward retires from NHL

Former Rangers forward Rick Nash announced through his agent that he is retiring from professional hockey.

Nash spent the better part of six seasons with the Rangers, recording 252 points (145G, 107A) in 375 career regular season games, and added another 38 points (14G, 24A) in 73 playoff contests with the Blueshirts. Nash, and his expiring contract, was traded at last year’s NHL deadline to the Boston Bruins, where the power-forward would finish off his NHL career. Although the end of last season wasn’t meant to be the end of Nash’s career in the NHL, his history of concussions has forced him to hang up his skates.
