I have long followed, read and admired Larry Brooks and his unmatched coverage of the Blueshirts. He is simply put the Rangers foremost insider on the daily beat. In honor of his HOF induction, we relive some memorable and classic moments with former Rangers fiery head coach, John Tortorella.
The Challenge
Who could forget the most memorable exchange between these two ever.
The Feud Continues
Things simmered down but got heated again in this classic exchange in the 2011 playoffs.
The Origin of the Feud
What most don’t recall is this feud didn’t start in NY, it started while Tortorella was in Tampa and Brooks was covering NJ in the playoffs.
Alls Well That Ends Well?
When Torts was hired by the Canucks, he and Brooksie made amends, although Brett Crygalis says Torts couldn’t be reached for comment on Brooks making the HOF.
No matter where they stand, amongst all in the hockey writing biz and many Rangers fans, Larry Brooks has been a HOFer and it is now official.
Congrats Larry!
