Nash has been told he’s been traded to Boston. https://t.co/8WMi0qJLQE

Rangers will be retaining 50 percent of Rick Nash salary/cap hit. The max allowed. Had to. Bruins cap tight.
— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) February 25, 2018
Ryan Lindgren is a 20 year old defenseman prospect that the Bruins selected in the 2nd round in 2016. He is considered a physical blue liner that can provide the occasional offense.
Lindgren is an OK prospect whose odds at playing in the NHL remain long. But a first-round pick for a rented 33-year-old Rick Nash? That’s a haul for the Rangers. https://t.co/4EViZnzaI2

Sounds like Spooner is involved in the Nash trade to Boston as well.

Ryan Spooner is a 26 year old center that has 25 points in 39 games. A nice bottom 6 add.
NYR also take Matt Beleskey although Bruins retain some salary.

Matt Beleskey is an agitator that if you recall sent Derek Stepan into the boards and putting him out of commission. He’s been out on waivers and is solely being moved to help Boston fit in Nash under the cap.
FULL DEAL: NASH TO BOSTON FOR 1ST ROUND PICK, RYAN SPOONER, MATT BELESKEY AND PROSPECT, RYAN LINDGREN, PLUS 7TH RD PICK

My Take
This was an absolute haul for a 34 year old rental forward who has been on a steady decline. Another 1st rd pick plus Ryan Spooner alone have me giddy. Lindgren is a sweetener. Beleskey has a 3.8M cap hit tilt 2020 which is bad. May help protect kids on 4th line. Great deal #NYR
