Bruins super pest Brad Marchand had some disparaging remarks about Rangers young defenseman Ryan Lindgren. It came after a 3-1 win almost a year ago where Lindgren was in Marchand’s face all night.

It all started when Lindgren introduced himself to Marchand by putting a shoulder into him at the bench. That basically ignited a feud between the two and led to chippy game.

After going head-to-head, Brad Marchand had some harsh words for him. The NHL’s poster child for agitators said, “[Lindgren] is not going to be a player there that’s going to have a very long career. I’m not overly concerned with him.”

Ryan Lindgren versus Brad Marchand

Ryan Lindgren has emerged as not only a staple on this young blue line but as one of the Rangers toughest players. He came to play that day and went at Marchand early and often, nearly hitting him over the boards. I guess for a player that Marchand isn’t too concerned about he didn’t stop himself from giving him a cheap shot during the second period.

Lindgren even sparked Pavel Buchnevich who cross checked Marchand in retaliation. Good stuff. It seems to me that Lindgren got under his skin more than he’d like to admit. I can’t wait to see what Lindgren does in response tonight at MSG.
