Rangers Roundup: Prospect update, Henrik Lundqvist news, and latest NHL rumors
All has started to quiet down on the New York Rangers front. It feels so odd that November has in essence become August for hockey news. It will be just as weird when training camps eventually open up around Christmas too.
New York Rangers prospects in action
The Blueshirts had several prospects in action today. Unfortunately, not many made any noise. Vitali Kravtsov had a quiet game in the KHL with just 1 shot on goal. Yegor Rykov took two shots and blocked two. Over in the SHL, Nils Lundkvist notched 2 shots but finished with a -1 in a little over 22 minutes of ice time.
Some good news, the other Finn Lauri Pajuniemi scored his first goal of the season. He tallied on a nice little give and go and beat the goalie clean. After coming off an injury it was great to see.
Henrik Lundqvist post career plans
The New York Rangers and their longtime franchise star, Henrik Lundqvist will reunite one day. Yesterday I got word out of Sweden that Lundqvist will come back to NY when he calls it a career. In what capacity, we have yet to hear.
From what I was told, Henrik is on the Swedish interview circuit and continues to open up about his past, present, and future. Expect more news around Monday.
