New York Rangers versus Carolina Hurricanes playoffs schedule
The New York Rangers will face the Carolina Hurricanes in Round Two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Blueshirts advanced in the playoffs thanks to a 3-1 series deficit comeback against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Artemi Panarin’s power play goal five minutes into the first OT completed the feat and moves the scene from NYC to Raleigh.

The Rangers had plenty of difficulties with the Hurricanes this season. Their only win was considered a stolen one thanks to Alexandar Georgiev’s 44 save performance in a 2-0 win back on March 20.

For the Hurricanes, Sebastian Aho steamrolled the Rangers with 7 points (3G – 4A) with former Rangers defenseman Tony DeAngelo adding 1 goal and 1 assists from the blue-line. In goal, Frederik Andersen led the team with a 2-1 record versus the Blueshirts posting a .914 SV% and 2.01 GAA.
On the Rangers injury front, Barclay Goodrow was ruled out for the Penguins after suffering a lower-body injury. His status is unknown.
For the Hurricanes, #1 goaltender Frederik Andersen was injured late in the season and missed the entire first-round against the Boston Bruins. His status is also unknown.
