The Rangers magic number is just 2 points to win the President’s Trophy as the best team in the NHL for the regular season. All that stands in their way are the New Jersey Devils whom they trounced on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

GAME 80: New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils, Prudential Center, NJ 7PM

A win here would allow the Rangers some breathing room in the final two games of the season. While resting players may not be on the minds of the coaching staff, playing a bit stress free to work on things that may be of concern heading into the playoffs would be optimal.

As Kevin Klein is nearing a return, the Blueshirts will be all systems go come round one of the playoffs and possible matchup against either the Bruins, Red Wings, Penguins, Islanders or Senators.
