Cole Schneider should be a familiar name in the Hartford hockey community. The New York native played with the University of Connecticut’s hockey team in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. He recorded 33 points in his first season with the Huskies, then 45 in the second. Early in his career, the forward was well rounded offensively. After his second season at UCONN, he joined the Binghamton Senators, notching two goals in 11 contests with the Senators.

The young forward remained in the Senators organization until the 2015-16 season. He produced quality and consistent numbers throughout his career in the American Hockey League. His numbers ranged from 35 points during his first full season in the league, to 58 points over the course of his tenure with Binghamton. Defensively, he works hard to ensure the opponents are given a hard time. The power forward is not afraid to be around the net offensively, always looking for the greasy goals.

In the 2015-16 season, the forward was traded in a seven player trade just before the deadline. He entered the Buffalo Sabres organization and played well. He produced 14 points in 19 games with Rochester after the deadline, building on the 42 points in 19 games he produced with Binghamton.

Last season was Schneider’s best season thus far. In his first full tenure with the Rochester Americans, he registered 24 goals with 39 assists for 63 points. That was his personal best in total points and assists. The power forward also recorded 45 penalty minutes, showing that he isn’t afraid to mix it up with the opponents. Offensively and defensively, he is a great fit with any team. Cole Schneider continues to learn despite his age of 27.

Then in the summer of 2017, Cole Schneider signed with the Rangers on a two-year deal worth $650,000 per year. The forward will bring strong qualities to Hartford. He will have the leadership skills in the locker room and has been through difficult situations. The veteran forward will bring positive traits to the group, including being able to help and guide the young prospects in Hartford, on and off the ice.  In addition, he will rise to the occasion when he is needed offensively. Cole Schneider will continue to work hard and want to be a difference maker in the organization. If he does well enough, perhaps he may be with the organization for more than two years.

I am looking forward to the playing style of Cole Schneider. He will be fun to watch in the upcoming season!  Here are a few quick stats on him:
