Steven Fogarty

Hartford has made additional moves in recent days. The New York Rangers offered a qualifying offer to forward Steven Fogarty and he accepted. In addition, Chris Drury and the Wolf Pack added Eric Raymond as a full-time goalie coach from the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL.

Eric Raymond Joins the Rangers Organization

Announced by the Halifax Mooseheads, goalie coach Eric Raymond has accepted a role in Hartford for the upcoming season and will leave the Mooseheads organization. Raymond is a familiar face to the personnel in Hartford, as Raymond was splitting time between Halifax and Hartford. He visited Hartford periodically throughout the season to help Hartford’s goalies. The move of Eric Raymond going full time in the Rangers organization is a strong move. This means that goalies in the system will have full-time access to a goalie coach in the minors. In addition, the goalies will get more attention in the organization, unlike past seasons where they had limited time with Eric Raymond.

The Pack has not announced the addition yet. This will also add a second assistant coach to Hartford along with assistant Joe Mormina. Perhaps he will also be on the bench during games for the club.

Steven Fogarty Returns

The depth forward in Hartford has accepted his qualifying offer from the Rangers, signing a one-year, two-way deal. If he makes the Rangers, his salary will be $708,750 according to CapFriendly and will be $700,000 in Hartford. The 25-year-old prospect has spent the last two seasons in Hartford as a center and played one game with New York last season. He is a forward that is good on the penalty kill and is capable in the defensive end. He has a great work ethic is hard and can win the important faceoff.

Steven Fogarty is a player that is good for depth. Offensively, he contributes a good amount for a player that is in a largely defensive role. Being able to put up points and playing solid defensively is a win for Hartford. Bringing back the forward will help keep Hartford playing strong on the penalty kill along with the defensive portion of the game.
