Rangers Draft New Jersey Born Defenseman Brandon Crawley

London Knights defenseman Brandon Crawley was drafted by the Rangers with the 123rd overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He is a little older than most players in this draft, so that will come with a little caution. This wasn’t the only player Rangers selected at 20 years old in this draft (Dominik Lakatos). This is also another player the Rangers drafted that is probably closer to becoming a pro than most of the other players in this draft.

The 20-year-old from New Jersey has had a solid run in the OHL but that should come with a grain of salt due to his age. He isn’t the biggest defenseman by any means in this draft, but try telling him that because he plays a very physical style and loves to be in the mix during big moments. Another positive to take from this kid is that he has continuously improved defensively and offensively every season in the OHL.

Fun Fact: He won a Championship with the London Knights, much like former Rangers defenseman for 11 years Dan Girardi.
