Rangers recall Braden Schneider amid transactions
Schneider, 21, has five goals and 15 points in 59 games this season. Drafted 19th overall by the New York Rangers in 2020, his steady play and high hockeyIQ have made him a solid addition to the blue line with the potential to be a top four defender.
The Rangers sent him down on Sunday night in order to accrue cap space to acquire Patrick Kane.
In other news, the Rangers have dealt big forward Austin Rueschhoff to the Nashville Predators.
Rueschhoff, 25, was signed out of college as a free agent back on March 20, 2020. At 6’7 and 229 lbs, the forward was one of the biggest prospects in the Rangers pipeline. This past summer, he signed a one-year deal at $750,000 per CapFriendly.
