Rangers Sign Defenseman Fredrik Claesson To One-Year Deal

A minute ago, the Rangers announced the signing of former Senators defenseman Fredrik Claesson.

Claesson is a stay-at-home defenseman that would do well on a bottom pair. The Rangers have a bevy of young defensemen and having a younger but experienced blue-liner will certainly help the novice rearguards.
Claesson, who will be 26 in November, is a no-frills, dependable D-man who played at times on a pair with Karlsson last year, and who performed well vs. #NYR in playoffs in '17. He's a 6-1, 200, lefty.
