Report: Chytil Likely To Miss Training Camp

According to a report on Czech news site iDNES.cz, it appears that Rangers rookie and 2017 first round draft pick Filip Chytil sustained a leg injury during the U20 Four Nations Tournament a few weeks ago.

The soon to be 18-year-old forward was not expected to make the Rangers out of training camp, but there was a lot of excitement in seeing him start his journey to the NHL. Chytil played for Czech Extraliga team HC Zlin last season and put up eight points in 38 games. That may not seem like a lot, but remember that Chytil was a 17-year-old playing against grown men.

Chytil is still planning on reporting to Rangers training camp, according to NY Post Rangers beat writer Larry Brooks. We will see how long Chytil lasts at the Rangers practice facilities in Greenburgh, or if he will even make the trip with the other prospects to the Traverse City tournament. One thing is certain; the faster Chytil gets back on the ice, the better it is for HC Zlin, Chytil, and the New York Rangers.
