The Rangers are in a spot we haven’t seen them in for years, and it’s a strange sight to see. Sellers at the deadline, hoping for them to lose for better odds at the draft, at least I am, and just hoping for a revamped coaching staff come next season. One thing that hasn’t really come up, mainly since we’re not even in the playoffs yet, is free agency.

The New York Rangers are going to look very different next season both upfront and on the blueline. As you all know, the rebuild is starting soon and many big names will be moved out within the next few months. We’ve written about it quite a bit on the site but today we’re going to look at the ideal Rangers lineup for next season. Now full disclosure: this lineup isn’t based on any rumors or inside info that I have. It’s simply ideas that I have that I think would set the Rangers up best for future success.

Well Rangers fans, if reports are to be believed, upper management has decided it is indeed time to rebuild the franchise and it couldn’t have come at a better time or during a better draft year. I’m not going to sugar coat it for you all: if the team truly commits to the rebuild there is going to be a lot of losing in the next few years and a lot of growing pains for the younger players that will be worked into the lineup. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though and it will be absolutely beautiful when this team comes out of it. Read more
