The NHL trade deadline is tomorrow at 3PM and the trading frenzy has already begun. The FullTilt Hockey Network breaks down the winners and losers so far.

Florida Gets Trade Date Vancouver Gets

G Roberto Luongo
F Steven Anthony

March 4

G Jacob Markstrom
F Shawn Matthias

WINNER: Vancouver

Sure the Canucks will pay a good portion of Roberto’s salary but it’s cheaper than a buyout. Otherwise this deal is a heist for Vancouver who are basically rebuilding on the fly. The Canucks now have 2 good young Swedish goalies in Lack (26) and Markstrom (24) who are huge 6’4″ and 6’6″ respectively. Throw in Shawn Matthias to boot, easy winners here. If they move Kesler for a good young center, the Canucks will be positioned for a run within 2 years.

Anaheim Acquires Trade Date Dallas Acquires

D Stephane Robidas

March 4

Conditional 4th Round Pick (2014)

WINNER: Anaheim

Robidas is an under-rated stay at home defenseman with wicked slap shot. Without a doubt the Ducks are going for it.

Philadelphia Acquires Trade Date NY Islanders Acquire

D Andrew MacDonald

March 4

3rd Round Pick (2014)
2nd Round Pick (2015)
F Matt Mangen

WINNER: Islanders

The Flyers win this trade today in acquiring the 27 year old MacDonald. He has 24 points in 63 games which is solid, but is sporting a nasty -19! On a team with suspect goaltending, will he help? This will all change if the Flyers can get an upgrade in goal. For now Isles got a nice return.

Minnesota Gets Trade Date Edmonton Gets

G Ilya Bryzgalov

March 4

4th Round Pick (2014)

WINNER: BOTH

The Wild have announced Niklas Backstrom is out for the year, giving Darcy Kuemper the net for the rest of the season. He has played very well and earned the trust of his teammates (11-3-2, 2.19 GAA). In case he should falter, they have a veteran to back him up. The fact that the Oilers cleared space for their next move was a win in and of itself.

Edmonton Gets Trade Date Anaheim Gets

G Viktor Fasth

March 4

5th Round Pick (2014)
3rd Round Pick (2015)

WINNER: Edmonton

This is a huge win for the Oilers. With all their youth they don’t need the picks. Viktor Fasth is a starting goaltender on most teams. He will instantly make the Oilers better. At 31 he is older but young enough for the Oilers to figure out the longterm solution.

Washington Gets Trade Date Trade Gets

F Dustin Penner

March 4

4th Round Pick (2014)

WINNER: Washington

Dustin Penner is a quality forward that will fit in on either their 2nd or 3rd line. He is a character guy and a 4th round pick is not that steep.

St. Louis Gets Trade Date Buffalo Gets

G Ryan Miller
F Steve Ott

February 28

G Jaroslav Halak
F Chris Stewart
F William Carrier
1st Round Pick (2015)
Conditional Pick

WINNER: St. Louis

This is the biggest trade by a country mile! The St. Louis Blues were a contender before but I stated I do not trust Halak in a big spot. Well the Blues landed the biggest money goaltender available in Ryan Miller while shedding Halak. Add in Steve Ott and this is a shift in power out West. One that has Anaheim on the verge of acquiring Thomas Vanek to offset.
