Update: Chris Kreider’s Surgery Is Successful

USA Today

Moments ago, the Rangers reported that Chris Kreider’s rib resection surgery was a success.

Kreider had been diagnosed with a blood clot in his arm and this surgery was the first step in the recovery process. The surgery was performed to help alleviate the symptoms of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, or TOS. Kreider is out for a minimum of six weeks, and if he is able to return this season, it wouldn’t be until roughly the final month of the regular season.

  • If he can come back at all, maybe they should just keep him out till next season.
It’s not like they have a chance for the Cup, so why risk rushing back just to be eliminated anyway( assuming they even make the playoffs.

    • Agree James, just get him so he’s 100% next season. No need to rush him back. But I bet Kreider has a goal of playing at least 1 more game this season.

  • I don’t see why he’s even missing the 6 weeks. He’s a big strong young guy so why can’t he get out there after this bye week break. Boy they just don’t make em like they used to. Lol Joking aside I’m more concerned about him being able to play at all, not just this season.
