Wolf Pack Roundup

Training Camp

Training camp began this past Sunday for the Wolf Pack, and the group has had an influx of players on tryout invites or from being cut from the Rangers. The cuts will begin later on in the week as Hartford plays their first two preseason games this week.  This season will be tough for players to make the Pack, with there being plenty of talented prospects and veterans looking to making their name known in the American Hockey League.

Training Camp Roster

Here is the current training camp roster for Hartford.  Here is the training camp schedule as well.

Preseason Outings

The first preseason game for the club will be this Thursday. The Pack will take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the XL Center with game time at noon. Unfortunately, the game will not be broadcasted or open to the public. The game was originally supposed to be played Thursday night at Trinity college; however, their venue double booked that night. In addition, the XL Center is hosting PBR bull riding this weekend and will have to changeover immediately after the game.

The second and final game is on Saturday as the Sound Tigers entertain the Wolf Pack in Worcester, Massachusetts. That game is scheduled to be played at 7 pm.

Season Expectations

Depending on the final roster and other rosters across the league, I feel confident in this upcoming season for Hartford. Last season will be put in the rearview mirror by fans, players, and coaches alike. The roster has dramatically changed this off-season, and it would be safe to say that they will be in the middle of the pack (pun intended). They have the potential to go up in the standings. It all depends on how they handle the tough matchups with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Last season, Hartford was swept in the season series with the Penguins, going 0-8. If the Pack can win a few against the Penguins this season, then they would be headed in a right direction.

Making every game count is something that new head coach Keith McCambridge has preached all summer, and I am looking forward to seeing his coaching style during his first year in Hartford. Stay tuned for the results all throughout this season!
